Harris County Public Health will be presenting this workshop for teens ages 11-18.The workshop will cover the
dangers of tobacco use including smoking and/or vaping, how it affects all organs in the body, the thousands of chemicals in vapes, and signs your loved one may be vaping. 

CATCH My Breath is the only evidence-based youth nicotine vaping prevention program that has been proven to substantially reduce students’ likelihood of vaping.

 Are your children's vaccines up to date? Harris Health System Troubleshooters will be here administering recommended vaccines by the CDC such as MMR, DTaP, IPV and others. First come, first serve, bring child(ren) shot record, children ages 0-18. No appointment required. Limited capacity.

Does your child use a computer, tablet or cellphone?

On Monday, June 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM, South Houston Branch Library will be having a talk and presentation for kids on the do's and dont's of using the internet. We will teach them how to be safe and recognizing certain dangers.

Let's build a safer online community!

This program is for kids ages 4 & up. Registration is not required.

Do you have a child that loves playing Roblox?

This summer we will be having a Roblox Summer Club! This program is for ages 8-13.

We will be playing Roblox on our very own server! (Owned by the library of course!)

No need to worry about random strangers joining us! Plus your child will get to meet other fellow Roblox players in person!

You may bring your own tablet, cellphone or latop. Or you can also use one of our computers!

Registration IS required.

Our special Summer Reading Program Edition of Lego club will be featuring Whataguy from Whataburger! He's coming over to save the day from illiteracy! Make sure to stock up on your reading list while at the library!

It's that time of year again! Our Summer Reading Program is starting up and this is the day to come and register! After you have finished registering for the Summer Reading Program, you are invited to join the Houston Art Center outside at the park next door to paint the trees! We are excited for everyone to Color Our World this year.

Join us at the Parker Williams Library Innovation Lab for our Laser Cutter Orientation!

This orientation session will introduce participants to the laser-cutting services we offer at the library. Those who complete the orientation will then be able to request supervised time to use a laser cutter at any HCPL branch that has one. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a laser cutter in the future.

This event is open to all ages. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

Patrons are not required to attend a Cricut Orientation to attend this craft.

Learn how to use the Cricut Maker’s Print and Cut Function with this fun craft! Patrons will learn how to use Cricut Print-and-Cut, then get to choose from a set of premade designs to color in for a personalized touch. 

Supplies are limited. Registration is required!
