Ahí, entre los valles de Oaxaca, la Sierra y las costas istmeñas, quedan sólidos vestigios del pueblo zapoteco. La técnica artesanal pasa de generación en generación, de familia en familia, enlazando la habilidad y la experiencia con el conocimiento ancestral de miles de mujeres zapotecas. Ninguna flor es igual a la otra, todas son únicas e irrepetibles como cada ser humano, así definen su arte las mujeres del Istmo de Tehuantepec.

A beautiful example of the diversity of our identity is found on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. There, between the valleys of Oaxaca, the Sierra, and the Isthmus coasts, remain solid vestiges of the Zapotec people. The artisanal technique is passed down from generation to generation, from family to family, linking skill and experience with the ancestral knowledge of thousands of Zapotec women. No two flowers are the same; all are unique and unrepeatable, like every human being. This is how the women of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec define their art.
