Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks of reading adventures!
Join us at the JC Library for Explore Your Library, a fun and informative event where you’ll discover all the amazing resources and programs your library has to offer! From early literacy tools and school support to college prep and citizenship classes, there’s something for everyone.
Are you in 7th–12th grade and looking for a fun, meaningful way to earn volunteer hours and make a difference? Become a Big Buddy at Jacinto City Branch Library!
As a Big Buddy, you’ll be paired with a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade (a Little Buddy) for 10 weeks of shared reading and mentorship. It’s a great way to build leadership skills, obtain service hours, and inspire a love of reading in a younger student.
