Join us at the Parker Williams Library Innovation Lab for our Laser Cutter Orientation!
This orientation session will introduce participants to the laser-cutting services we offer at the library. Those who complete the orientation will then be able to request supervised time to use a laser cutter at any HCPL branch that has one. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a laser cutter in the future.
This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services within the Harris County Public Library system. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the 3D printer or Resin 3D printer.
This class is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
We will meet in the Innovation Lab on the 2nd Floor.

This class will introduce basic file management using a desktop computer. Participants will familiarize themselves with the file explorer, creating digital folders, and moving files throughout the computer. Basic familiarity with computers (turning on the computer, using the mouse, basic typing) is required. We will be using library computers, so no need to bring your own!
Join us for the Monthly Make and Mingle- A hands-on program where creativity meets technology! Each month, adults and teens are invited to explore a new craft or DIY project using in-house maker equipment—including the Cricut, Laser Cutter, and 3D printers—alongside traditional crafting supplies.
The craft for January is a Wooden Memory Box.
This class is for people who are new to using computers and want to learn the basics of using a desktop computer. Topics covered will include basic computer vocabulary, using the mouse, and an overview of the operations and programs many computers have. This class does not require any prior knowledge of computers. We will be using library computers, so no need to bring your own!
