Join us for the Monthly Make and Mingle, a new hands-on program where creativity meets technology! Each month, adults are invited to explore a new craft or DIY project using in-house maker equipment—including the Cricut, laser cutter, and 3D printers—alongside traditional crafting supplies.

Whether you're an experienced maker or just curious to try something new, this program offers a welcoming space to learn, create, and connect with fellow makers. All materials are provided, space is limited, register today!

This session will introduce participants to the Cricut machine’s capabilities, operation, and use. Completion of this orientation is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the Cricut at HCPL.

During the orientation, you’ll also have the chance to design and create your own custom mug—a fun, hands-on way to put your new skills into action!

This class is appropriate for patrons ages 12 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

Learn how to book time with the Kingwood Library’s Glowforge Laser Cutter! This orientation session will introduce participants to laser cutting and engraving services in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a laser cutter at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a laser cutter.

This orientation session will introduce participants to vacuum forming services in the library, and the basics on how to create your own uniquely-shaped plastic molds. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a vacuum former at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a vacuum former.
