Come to West University Branch Library on the second Wednesday of each month at 11am for Polliwog Club! Naturalist Cece Cherry from Precinct 1's Environmental Education program will host a special program for our youngest explorers (ages 2-4 years)! Join us for a craft time for our youngest artists! This activity is intended for children ages 2 and up.
Registration is strongly encouraged, so we can get a head count -- we want to have enough materials for everyone who wants to join in on the fun! Depending on weather and mess level, this program will either be outside the library or in the children's section upstairs.
Have a spectacular pet? Want everyone to know that you have an adorable cat, dog, hamster, or goldfish? Bring your pet (or a photograph of them) to our Spring Break pet parade! We'll take a short route through the neighborhood, then participants will get an opportunity to show off their adorable pets!
If your pet is reactive to other animals or cannot otherwise participate in this program, you are welcome to bring a poster or photo of your pet. We will provide supplies for kids to make small (8"x11") posters of their pets 30 minutes before the parade.
Zine Fest Houston (@zinefesthouston) and West University Branch Library present Teen Spring Zine Thing!
In this three-day workshop, teens and tweens will learn the history of zines and how to make them, all while creating and playing together.
Registration is encouraged. Supplies will be provided.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal for a special party at the library! Your stuffed animal gets to stay behind for a sleepover with their new stuffy friends. What sort of mischief will your stuffed animal find at the library when it closes? Join us to find out!
Pictures of the stuffed animals will be on West University Branch Library's Facebook and Instagram pages. Stuffed animals can be picked up starting on Saturday, March 8th at 10am.
Get paired up with a student from the McGovern Medical School of UT Health Houston for a little walk about town. Ask any questions you may have about being a med student or take the time to enjoy a little conversation with a college student. The walk starts at 10am in front of the West University Library. Please register online for this event. For adults.
