 Amate is a type of paper produced from the fibers of the bark of fig trees. Beginning in pre-Hispanic times, different indigenous groups in Mexico used the amate to communicate with others. However, now Nahua artisans paint intricate birds, colorful plants, and whimsical animals on the amate so that it can be used for decoration.

Join us for Toddler Story Time, an early literacy program where we share stories, songs, and rhymes! This program is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old and their caregivers. 

At the end of the month this program will be a playtime allowing little ones to socialize and play while working on motor and development skills.

Get ready to sing, bounce, play and bond with baby during this interactive baby time. This program is perfect for non-walkers. Space is limited. Tickets available 15 minutes before the program at the information desk.

Join us for an interactive early literacy experience for preschoolers and their caregivers. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6 years old and features songs, books, and crafts each week!

This program is a wonderful way to promote early literacy, social skills, and kindergarten readiness skills!

Join us for an exciting fitness program from UTMB!   Open to 60+ patrons

Join our eco-friendly craft program for teens and turn pill bottles and air-dry clay into delightful mushroom decorations! This workshop encourages creativity and sustainability by repurposing materials. Teens will learn about the environmental benefits of creative reuse while having fun transforming pill bottles into charming and functional mushrooms. They can personalize their creations and connect with their peers.
