The Next Chapter kicks off its annual Winter Film Fest on Thursday, December 11. We look forward to showing Small Things Like These, the 2024 film adapted from the novella by the same name by Claire Keegan. Set in 1985 Ireland, devoted father Bill Furlong discovers disturbing secrets kept by the local convent and uncovers shocking truths of his own. This film stars Cillian Murphy, Patrick Ryan, Peter Claffey, Ian O'Reilly, and Helen Behan. Rated PG-13, Small Things Like These lasts 1 hour, 38 minutes. This film includes Closed Captioning. The Next Chapter is an in-person event for adults of all ages where we offer informative and entertaining presentations by staff, the Friends of Freeman Library, and local partners.
