Express Children's Theatre presents AN ART CLASS FOR KIDS WITH FRIDA KAHLO, commissioned by Rothko Chapel.
Thanks to a time-bending twist, the iconic artist Frida Kahlo will travel from 1940s Mexico to lead an art class for South Houston families! Materials will include crayons and colored pencils and everyone will get a chance to make self-portraits and learn about Frida in the process. Great for all ages!
In this biographical drama, Selena Quintanilla (Jennifer Lopez) is born into a musical Mexican-American family in Texas. Her father, Abraham (Edward James Olmos), realizes that his young daughter is talented and begins performing with her at small venues. She finds success and falls for her guitarist, Chris Perez (Jon Seda), who draws the ire of her father. We just started taking on a project of crocheting/knitting ear warmers for a domestic abuse shelter that houses about 100 individuals. We hope to make as many as we can by October. Yarn is provided. If you'd like to help with this project, thats awesome!

Join us for a free class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. You must complete an English placement assessment to join the class. Taking this class will not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.
