"Tres Leches" means "three milks", which is the basis for this delicious dessert that is popular in Mexico. We will learn to make a single serving version of this tasty treat using cake, three milks, whipped cream and strawberries.
For the month of October, we will combine our toddler story time with our Family Place Parent Child Workshop! Each week we will introduce an early childhood topic with a story and fingerplay. A community expert in each topic will be on hand for one-on-one time with parents while the children will have extra toys and playtime. Topics include: Early Literacy, Nutrition, Developmental Milestones, Speech and Language Development, and Movement. Check with the Crosby Library for the schedule and list of community experts.

Amate is a type of paper produced from the fibers of the bark of fig trees. Beginning in pre-Hispanic times, different indigenous groups in Mexico used the amate to communicate with others. However, now Nahua artisans paint intricate birds, colorful plants, and whimsical animals on the amate so that it can be used for decoration.
